Mindy Kaling is one of our favorite writers and comedians. We love her sass and sense of humor. She's also brilliant, accomplished, an amazing business person, and a supporter of women. What's not to love?

Shortly after launching in in 2016, we noticed her comment on one of our early Instagram posts, which featured our large beach tote bag embroidered with “Fuck You And Your Hamptons House." This personalized tote bag was one of the original styles and phrases that we launched with, catapulting the brand into virality.

As one of our very first celebrity supporters, Mindy thought this beach tote was hilarious and wanted one for herself! We were so grateful to connect with Mindy directly, finding her just as sweet, gracious, and funny via DM!

Mindy received her beach tote bag while we were traveling in Cuba and had no wifi or connectivity to Instagram. She posted to her instagram “Holiday gift from @wearepoolside that is both ladylike and rude. My fave.” It wasn’t until I got back to New York that I saw we had completely sold out of everything on our website!
